: In the underground kingdom of the Fairyland, Soporific water disappeared. Girl Ally, once again in the Magic Land, helps to return the water and leaves the country forever.
Introduction
The magical land was created by the wizard Gurricap. He sought solitude for a long time, until he found a picturesque place. He surrounded the country with impassable mountains and desert, so that ordinary people could not get there. Eternal summer reigns here, and animals and birds can talk. For himself, the wizard erected a palace in the impregnable mountains and ordered that no one approach him. Soon he died, people forgot about him, there was only a dilapidated palace, and no one dared to approach him.
Years passed, the Fairyland was divided into parts at war with each other. In one of the states, Prince Bofaro planned to overthrow his father, King Naranju, from the throne. The plot was uncovered, and the father forever imprisoned his son and family, with all the conspirators and their families in the dungeon. So there was a country of underground miners. Its inhabitants tamed the terrible monsters with six legs and dragons that lived in the dungeon. Gradually, these people lost the habit of sunlight and came to the surface only at night, in order to exchange the precious stones they extracted underground for food.
Prince Beauforto had seven sons. So as not to offend anyone, Beforo decided: each heir will rule the country in turn, for a month. The heirs lived in a palace, divided into parts, each of which was painted with one of the colors of the rainbow. Each king had his own ministers, and they issued their own laws. Ordinary people were torn at work to satisfy the whims of the rulers. Since there was no change of day or night in the underground country, the time was recognized by the hourglass, which the Time Guard kept track of.
Years passed. The term of one of the kings was coming to an end, and he had to transfer power to another. But he was a baby, and his mother ruled for him. She forced the Keeper of the Time to turn the clock, and confusion began in the country, since the people did not know which king to obey.
Six-legged were caught by specially trained hunters. Once, one of them, during a hunt, saw a new source of water. He decided to drink and fell asleep. Seeing that the hunter was gone for a long time, the king ordered him to be found. The hunter was found near a small depression, in which there was no water. While the doctors were arguing whether he was alive or dead, the hunter opened his eyes. He was like a newborn, did not remember anything, could neither drink, nor eat, nor speak. But he soon recovered and told what had happened. After examining the water that appeared and disappeared, the inhabitants of the underground country came to the conclusion that it was soporific.
Each king had his own staff of servants, on whom the people had to work, so it was decided during the reign of one king to euthanize the rest with his whole family and retinue.
Meanwhile, four sorceresses came to the Magic Land: Gingham, Bastinda, Stella and Willina. After the dispute, they divided the country into four parts, and left the central one free. But soon Goodwin from Kansas got into it, which people took for a powerful wizard. Goodwin built the Emerald City and lived in it until Ellie exposed the "sorcerer." Goodwin returned to Kansas, leaving as his ruler the Scarecrow of the Wise.
After the defeat of the wooden army of Oorfene Deuce, a traitor from the Emerald City, Ruf Bilan disappeared into the dungeon. Wandering in a labyrinth, he found a pickaxe forgotten by masons and, having cut through a wall, destroyed a pool of Soporific water. He was captured and brought to the king. The story of Ruf Bilan aroused contempt from the king, but he could not judge him for his betrayal.Since the pool was destroyed unknowingly, the king made Ruf Bilan a palace footman.
The disappearance of the Soporific water led to tragedy. Accustomed to artificial sleep, people could not fall asleep on their own and suffered from insomnia until nature took its toll. Now all the inhabitants of the underground country were awake, and there was not enough food for everyone. An council urgently gathered, the meeting of which was interrupted by the news that a boy and a girl were coming to the city to accompany an unknown animal.
Protracted walk
In the meantime, Ellie and her pet Toto are going to visit relatives. She walks with her cousin Fred, who is two years older than the girl, and talks about her travels to the Fairyland. One day, children decide to explore a nearby cave. Having discovered their disappearance, parents run to the cave and see that a collapse has occurred. They consider children dead.
But the children remain alive and begin to look for a way out. Having wandered through the maze, they go to the underground river. He put an inflatable boat in his backpack, and now it came in handy for them. After ten days of swimming, food supplies ran out, and the children had to eat fish. Finally, the boat carries into the underground country of the miners.
Residents of the underground country lead the children to the king. Seeing Ellie, Ruf Bilan recognizes her and tells the king that she is a fairy who destroyed two evil sorceresses. In response to Ellie's request to help her upstairs to return home, the king sets her condition: to return the Soporific water.
The beautiful rooms in the palace are assigned to the children and guardians are assigned to them. The chronicler Arrigo tells them the story of an underground country. Ellie asks the king to inform the Scarecrow and the Lumberjack about her arrival, but the king refuses: friends will demand the release of the captives, and for the underground inhabitants this will be in great trouble.
Ellie and Fred decide to cheat. Under the pretext of visiting the pool with Somnolent water, Totoshka will try to escape. Children are counting on the help of Arrigo, who sympathizes with them.
End of the underworld
Having hidden Totoshka under a jacket, Arrigo brings it to the surface during an exchange of products with Chewers. With the help of the ruler of the Blue Country, Totoshka enters the Emerald City. The scarecrow calls for the help of the Lumberjack and the Brave Lion, and friends advise how to free Ellie. With a letter in a collar stating that Miguns, residents of the Emerald City, and forest animals will come to Ellie's aid, Totoshka returns to the underground country.
Ellie pretends to conjure over a spring, but water does not appear. She attributes this to the fact that the powers of the underground spirits are stronger than her spell.
Ellie presents the Scarecrow's ultimatum to the king: if the underground inhabitants do not let the captives go, the ruler of the Emerald City and the Allies will go to war with them. The king is ready to fight, but only underground - miners are not going to go up. Since Totoshka was put in a cage upon his return, Arrigo helps Fred to get upstairs.
Fred gets to Scarecrow and tries to dissuade him from the war. Skillful master Migunov Leicester proposes to make the underground inhabitants a water pump. With such a proposal, a ground delegation arrives in the underground country.
In honor of the distinguished guests, a magnificent feast is organized, and the source is restored with the help of masons. During the work it turns out that water euthanizes with its fumes, but diamonds protect it from this.
Having received the Soporific Water, each king began to intrigue against the others, wanting to become the only ruler, but the Wise Scarecrow outwitted everyone. He put to sleep all the kings and their retinues, and when they woke up, they were brought up by simple workers. The ruler of the country was elected one of the Guardians of the Time of Ruggiero, and the rest of the inhabitants were to be silent and not tell the kings about their past. Only Ruf Bilan did not inspire confidence, and he was carried to the cave, put to sleep for ten years.
Ellie with Totoshka and Fred should return home. The queen of mice Ramina predicts that this is the last trip of the girl to the Fairyland. The hand dragon Oykhho is entrusted with bringing the children home. Friends gently say goodbye to Ellie, feeling that they see her for the last time.
