Once, while drinking, they enter into an altercation with the rebel Guan Sheng, who sells doggies to raise money for the return trip. Guan knocks Dean down. He faces punishment, but Zhao's kind wife, Li Qian-jiao, lets him go. Guan swears to thank Li.
