In the slavery of loneliness, people who are indifferent and indifferent to everything very often find themselves. This is not a rule, but it happens that detachment from the world and people leads to the fact that everyone, even the closest ones, leaves a person. This idea is present in many works of Russian literature.
In my opinion, it’s worth starting with A.S. Pushkin "Eugene Onegin." Tired of the hypocrisy of the upper world, Onegin loses interest in life. He is indifferent to everything, even to the girl who is in love with him. Tatyana cannot understand his indifference, she in her confession reveals to Eugene her whole soul, and he remains indifferent. This is cruel not only in relation to the heroine, but, as it turned out, and in the future fate of Eugene himself. The manifested indifference to the naked soul of the girl led the hero to loneliness. He could not fall in love when she fell in love, and for this he was punished. Having been reborn, having returned to life, Eugene realizes that Tatyana, even though she loves him, will never be with him. He is late. The hero’s indifference in the past made him abandoned in the present.
And in the work of M.Yu. Lermontov's “Hero of our time” Grigory Pechorin is also a victim of his indifference. He remains indifferent to the fate of the women whom he is fond of, so in the final analysis he is always alone, although he is passionately loved by the girls he attracted. The hero of Lermontov admits his indifference, but can not do anything about it. Because of this, Bela, the “savage,” whose love is only entertainment for Pechorin, Mary, whom he also enjoys, suffers ... Even in friendship, the hero is indifferent: Maxim Maksimych, who considers him a close friend, is struck by the cold of the meeting, he does not understand detachment "Friend." Gregory gets what he deserves, and he considers it fair. He paved his way to loneliness through indifference to almost all circumstances and phenomena of life.
When a person is left alone, he often begins to look for reasons for this. Sometimes you just need to ask yourself the question: "Maybe my indifference is to blame?" Alas, in response to heartlessness we can only rely on him, but on behalf of all those whom we have offended by indifference and disregard.
