(261 words) On June 22, 1941, a war struck our country like thunder on a clear day. From that terrible day, brave Soviet people fought for victory, not sparing themselves. Who is at the front, who is at the rear, everyone contributed. Many fell in battle or from difficult living conditions, but they all gave their lives for victory.
The significance of the Great Victory for the fate of our country and the whole world is enormous. If the Nazis had won, then they would have taken over the whole world and destroyed many nations, just because they do not belong to the "higher race." The domination of Nazism would kill all the good, humane that is in this world. We now live and breathe freely, and each of us has a chance of happiness only thanks to the great feat of our ancestors. In order to prevent a new world war, no country should consider itself superior to others or strive to isolate itself from the rest, considering all to be “enemies”. Hostility of people and countries in relation to each other is the root of evil. I think the history of World War II and the hard-won Victory teaches us that all citizens living on Earth, all countries need to unite, live peacefully, respect and understand each other.
The Great Victory was won by the blood and suffering of those who were not afraid to give their lives for truth and justice. The debate about whose contribution to the victory is greater is ridiculous and meaningless. Because it was not a victory of one country over another, but a victory of humanity and justice over cruelty and evil. I believe that the task of every country and every person is to strive to maintain and increase peace on the planet. Only then the memory of the Great Victory will not be in vain.
